I have enjoyed being a resource room teacher in East Jackson for 32 years. I first taught at the middle school for 20 years, then for 5 years at Robinson, and 7 years at the new East Jackson Elementary! In my classroom I believe that it is imperative to challenge my students to be good thinkers while at the same time creating a community where they feel comfortable and safe. I intend for you to see significant improvements in your child's learning while they are a student of mine.
A little more about me: I grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois where my parents still live. I went to Hope College in Holland, Michigan for my undergraduate degree and Eastern Michigan University for my graduate degree in school counseling. I have a husband who is an avid bicyclist, a daughter who is an avid dancer, and a standard labradoodle who is an avid runner. One of my interests outside of school is reading, which I try to do as much as I can! I love to share in discussion of books with my family, friends, and students. I also love to work out, practice yoga, and enjoy coaching for Girls on the Run!
I love to work with students who learn differently and love the challenge of finding ways to help them learn and be successful.
